Derek's different; been hurt too many times by the people he lets in. He's even hard for me to read.

[ this is all one text, but cora does pause after she types it up. because losing a parent, let alone two, is hard enough to deal with. and to see the killer almost every day in wonderland? cora's not sure what to do. but she does know that her going after mirror!scott for the things he said about isaac and derek was the right, if stupid, thing to do. since she doubts either would've done it themselves. ]

Do you think his ability to be dumb will end up hurting someone? :)

Its probably better that way anyway.

[ Fake teenage apathy is a go. Because he knows it's probably better that way even if it is always hard to lose a family member, especially a parent. Especially a parent after losing the first one. He'll ignore the urge to wonder if anyone will actually realize the day he's gone, his whole family was a blip on the radar that just faded out one day. ]

[ too bad for isaac, cora will remember him. the annoying boy with the bright blue eyes who loves his friends wholly and consumingly to the point where it may turn peter hale into a good guy. the hales are remembered for things she doesn't like; burning to death, derek being a ghost and haunting the old house, laura being butchered. she'd rather not be remembered at all. ]
