Name: Isaac Lahey
Appearance:

Tall. Curly hair. Perfect teeth. Blue eyes. Pale. Fabulous.

Canon: Teen Wolf
History:
Isaac Lahey was the youngest and last born to his family, with only his brother Camden Lahey. He lived a fairly normal life in Beacon Hills California. After having a friend named Matt over, that friend nearly died in the Lahey's pool, only surviving because his dad resuscitated him. Then sometime later, Isaac's brother died in battle, leaving him and his abusive father. Isaac points out that his father didn't always abuse him, implying that either the situation with Matt or perhaps his brother's death.
Isaac is seen to be a bit of a loner, an outcast even. Derek finds him one night, doing his job, digging graves and ends up offering him the bite. Offering him the power to take control of his life, and perhaps stop being such an outcast. He of course takes Derek up on the offer, wanting the ability to fight back, to be able to have some form of power against his abusive dad.*
When he met Scott, the main protagonist, it was very brief, and ended in him imploring the other werewolf not to tell anyone before he got walked off by the cops. Jackson Whittmore informed the cops that he had witnessed Isaac's father kicking the crap out of him and that he had been having a fight with Isaac before dying. This lead to Isaac being the prime suspect in his father's murder and then being arrested on suspicion.
Allison (Scott's girlfriend), Stiles and Scott, try to rescue Isaac from a hunter trying to kill Isaac whilst he is locked up. This leads to him getting free and nearly trying to eat Stiles (who is saved by Derek Alpha Roaring at Isaac and forcing him into submission). Of course his alpha powers don't stop there; Derek turns two other teenagers, Erica and Boyd, who are Isaac's packmates. They seem to all bond over being outcasts in various ways and there are quite a few scenes showing Erica and Isaac's friendship.
Scott doesn't learn that Boyd has been turned until he is forced to fight Isaac and Erica, and then ultimately Derek. Before the fight, however, Scott tries to talk Boyd out of taking the bite, in which Derek retaliates by asking Isaac and Erica how their lives are. Erica responds "In one word: transformative." As someone that had been used to never having any sort of power, Isaac adds just as arrogantly that "I'm pretty bummed about being a fugitive but other than that I'm great." This denotes the beginning of a short-lasting negative relationship between Isaac and Scott.
The Kanima**, the creature that both killed Isaac's father and has been committing other murders and the wolves have various encounters that lead Derek to have Jackson, the boy that had gotten Isaac in trouble to begin with, to be brought to him so that Derek could test if the Kanima's venom worked on him. In the end, it did work on Jackson, causing them to believe it was someone else, such as Lydia Martin. Later on, Isaac forces/bullies Jackson into telling the cops that he hadn't seen them fighting right before his father's death, leading to his name being cleared, so was no longer a fugitive.
Isaac, who is loyal to Derek, the man who gave him power and confidence as well as "friends" is allowed back into school and goes back so he can help Derek kill Lydia, who they suspect is the Kanima. During a chemistry lab, Stiles and Isaac have a rather intense moment where Stiles threatens Isaac, who's intentions are known by the protagonists, that if he hurts Lydia there will be a price to pay. Isaac seems unruffled even going as far as to retell the story of how he asked Lydia out and was turned down, told to talk to her again when his bike doesn't have a chain. He seems spiteful about this saying he'll channel it into killing her. Isaac shows just how resourceful he really is, testing Lydia with venom from the Kanima without her realizing. All of them watch as she is totally unaffected.
After an attempt to kill Lydia and a fight Scott and his friends and Derek's pack, they realize that the Kanima was actually Jackson. Later he goes to a rave with Erica ordered by Derek and working with Scott to try to stop Jackson from murdering another innocent as the Kanima. This plan of course fails, but it leads to one of the turning points of Isaac's character and relationship with Scott. Scott asks Isaac to be careful, Isaac thinking he means be careful not to hurt Jackson replies that he doesn't think he can hurt him. Scott informs him that he was worried about Isaac and doesn't want him to get hurt.
During the full moon after the rave, Isaac manages to find his anchor, the thing that allows him to stay human and have control. Derek informs him that it can be anything, and instead of choosing hatred or anger like Derek did, he chose love, like Scott did. He chose the memories of his father before he used to abuse him, when they were still a loving family. "Your father used to lock you up in the freezer in your basement." "He didn't used to."
Meanwhile while all this is going on, the Argents (Allison's family) are waging a war on werewolves, Isaac and the rest of his pack get dragged into this, and injured quite a few times. Boyd and Erica, terrified by this, decide to flee in an attempt to save their lives. Isaac goes to Scott for his opinion on whether or not he should stay or go with them. They share another couple moments. The first is when Deaton, the vet, shows Isaac that he can take away another creature's pain. He ends up crying and showing both Scott and Deaton that he's a lot more than some mindless cruel antagonist, that he is thrilled to be able to take the dog's pain away and indeed does have a kind heart (something that Daniel Sharman, Isaac's actor, mentions in an interview as well). Then another when he asks Scott what he's doing and whether he should leave. Scott tells him he has people relying on him in Beacon Hills. Scott asks Isaac why he is asking for his advice and Isaac responds: "You always seem to want to do the right thing."
When he hears that Scott is still dealing with the Kanima and having a hard time, Isaac decides to stay behind and help Scott. He puts his life on the line, both antagonizing the Kanima during the Lacrosse game and then nearly getting himself killed when he has to be removed from the field due to a paralyzing scratch from the Kanima. Gerard Argent follows him to the locker room and attempts to kill him. This plan is foiled by Scott, who saves Isaac from being chopped in two with a freaking sword!
In the end of the season he continues to fight alongside Scott and Derek, helping them resolve the problem with the Kanima. Both Isaac and Derek learn that Erica and Boyd were kidnapped.
After all that was resolved, there was a new threat: an alpha pack that decided to wage a turf war sort of. Isaac ends up moving in with Derek in an apartment downtown, still going to school with Scott and his friends. Season three starts out with a mysterious girl saving Isaac from a pair of Alpha twins, but unfortunately is killed by the Alphas. We find out that this is because at some point Isaac finds where the Alphas were keeping Erica and Boyd, this of course leads to him getting caught, injured and worst of all, the alphas read his memories as well as take some from him.
Cora and Boyd
Get Argent's help and save them
In an attempt of revenge for the mysterious girl he tries to fight back against the Alphas who terrorize him, Derek, Scott and all of his friends. This, ultimately leads to his falling out with Derek (for his protection.) and getting kicked out. With nowhere else to go, he goes to Scott, who allows him to move in with him and his mother. That is now where he is currently living, as he fights alongside Scott and Derek to try to eliminate the threat.

Boyd and Isaac Protect Derek. Boyd gets killed, isaac saves Jennifer***.
Isaac follows Allison around like a lost puppy protecting her. Friendship developement. Darach tries to kill Lydia. LYDIA IS A BANSHEE HOSHIT.

Isaac ends up ditching Derek for good for Scott. Kills allison. saves parents the day is saved hurrah.
* We get shown a scene where his dad is abusing him after he takes the bite and ultimately becoming a werewolf. After healing in front of his father, he runs away, trying to get away from him, and then finds/witnesses his dad's death. That leads him to go to Derek and inform him that he thinks his dad is dead.
** The Kanima is a shapeshifter controlled by another person (who turned out to be Matt), Jackson has no memories of what he does as the Kanima.

*** THE BLOODY DARACH
Canon point:
Personality:
Isaac's life is about balance, the ups and the downs, the control and lack-thereof throughout his life. His lack of control and hate for it, is what causes him to accept the bite. He doesn't see it as a horrible thing, but instead a gift, the power to take control of his life. Of course, with that power it leads to many downfalls and problems for the teenager.
Isaac Lahey wasn't always abused and at a helpless state. But when his dad started beating him and abusing him at a young age, it hit deep as most abusive relationships do. He became accustomed to cowering in fear and letting the world kick the crap out of him due to literally a lack of power. Lying about black eyes, busted lips and bloody noses to even the most concerned strangers. Of course, he never truly hated his father for it, even though rage might make him second guess that on occasion.
When Isaac gains power from Derek via the bite he does exactly what one might expect out of a quite abused boy, all except for going too far. He abuses the power, bullies those that bullied him first, and even people that didn't but never offered him the help he'd desperately needed. Lahey was shown to be a rather dangerous antagonist when he first got his powers, listening to Derek and seeming to have no issue with killing innocent people. Lydia was only suspected as the creature they were chasing and yet he went after her to kill her anyway, instead of giving her a chance.
Despite the abuse in power, he never does turn around and kill his dad, and he doesn't exactly go darkside either. Both are really good signs for him and foreshadow his eventual mellowing out. After a while he stops being a sort of arrogant jerk with superpowers and sort of lurks by the sidelines to help out when he can. He becomes one of the good guys. And later, in episodes of Season 3 he risks his own life for the greater good and to help others on an almost episode to episode basis.
The main thing anyone needs to know about Isaac is that he has a kind heart. That fact is the reason he becomes one of the "good guys." He seems to generally like fighting alongside the good guys even if he can be a tad snarky at times. This aspect of him is really shown in a scene where he takes away the pain from a dying dog and then proceeds to cry, just as Scott did. Showing how much it touched him to allow the suffering animal some peace.
He is also a very forgiving person, as mentioned before with his father, he chooses to remember the good times than the bad times. He also forgave Allison when locked in the closet with her, seeming to be playful about asking for an apology, mentioning she "stabbed him with knives... Twenty times." Then he seems to even smile at her when she offers an apology. He also helped Derek after he betrayed his trust, even risking his own life to save Derek's sister. He doesn't seem to hold any horrible grudges as far as we've seen in canon. He seems to have adopted some of Scott's morals when it comes to forgiveness.
Bravery is a gigantic part of Isaac's personality -- from season two to season three, we've witnessed him go from a sort of anti-hero character to a full on hero. His bravery is almost unmatched in the show, he constantly risks his life for others and puts himself in bad situations to help others. He saved all of the parents by holding up the ceiling to keep it from crushing them, despite it being a tiny space (he's later shown curled into himself looking rather unhappy about this). He took the ice bath that was dangerous to try to remember where Boyd and Erica were. Multiple times he risked his life to face off against the alphas. The third season starts out with him being selfless, trying to find Erica and Boyd and risking his life.
Even though he was abused and may have started out being a werewolf a little shaky and maybe on not so good terms he's good natured and seems to want to do the right thing. He even asks Scott for advice at one point, shocking both the watcher and Scott himself. When asked why he was going to Scott he says it's because Scott always seems to do the right thing. That in itself seemed to gain Isaac's trust and respect and shows just what kind of person Isaac is.
Not only is Isaac a generally good guy he is also reliable especially to those he cares about. He was there sticking by Derek's side and the rest of the pack when they were going after the Kanima. He also showed up at the La Crosse game that he was going to be absent for after he declared he was leaving to help Scott. And help he did, he got Scott who was benched because of his grades in the game by injuring other players and risking his life with the Kanima. And even later on in Season 3 after Derek betrays his trust with a low blow, Isaac still returns to protect and help him.
Loyalty, is a big thing to Isaac, if he deems you worthy of his alliance, he will do anything to help, even at the possible cost of his own life. This is a trait he shows in both Season 2 and Season 3, he continually assists Scott once he realizes that Scott is worth being loyal to and even Derek. From staying to help Scott with the Kanima, going with him to face the Alphas that could easily kill him, protecting Derek even after being betrayed, to trying to at first protect and then avenge the mysterious girl that rescued him.
Ultimately Isaac ends up switching alphas -- from Derek to Scott, something everyone saw coming from a mile away. However he had to justify it to himself, to use anger to do it, instead of simply saying "I don't like you, peace out." He has to give himself reasons why he switches from Derek to Scott. He also didn't want to leave Scott when his life was in danger with Peter Hale screaming from the back seat to drive and get out of there. He wanted to stay and get Scott, to stay loyal. He also didn't want Scott to trust Deucalion because it seemed like it could put Scott and everyone else in danger, but instead of going against Scott, he stands by his side when he uses Deucalion.
To say Isaac is overprotective is an understatement, when he cares about someone, he protects them with every fiber of his being. In Season 3 when he hears that Scott is gravely injured and not healing, he goes after Ethan, Scott's attacker, and beats him up in front of the cross country team, not allowing anyone to stop him other than Scott himself. There are also multiple other times that he is shown protecting Scott, or having his back. This protectiveness is due to the fact that in his life, Isaac doesn't really have anyone and the people he had become attached to, are dead. This leads him to want to protect those people important to him.
Another one of the things everyone needs to know about the teenager is that he is a teenager. Not only with the battle of self-esteem in a high school environment he has bad self-esteem because of his home life. This leads to him being rather unsure with his choices, like how his loyalty flickers from Scott to Derek. He also has a moment of self conflict when he can't decide if he wants to stay with Derek or leave.
This unsure nature isn't only limited to himself though, he is generally seen to be timid with other people, even if he's putting on a show of arrogance. He also doesn't seem to trust anyone, with the exception of Scott and Derek ("Do you trust me?" "...Yeah."). Despite this unsure nature, he will try to overcompensate and act like he owns the place if he is intimidated or uncomfortable, of course his tell tale nervous habits give him away rather quickly, despite his quick wit and sarcasm.
Another thing that seems to be parallel to Isaac's age is how emotionally delicate he is. At a very young age his father began both physically and emotionally abusing him, it lead to emotional scars and triggers that one could relate to Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and in Season 3 is shown to have a few panic attacks. In an interview, Daniel Sharman (Isaac's actor) expresses that Isaac is close to a mental breakdown which only furthers the fact that he's emotionally delicate. Though, for someone so young witnessing so much death and misery, it's hardly surprising.
Isaac's caring heart, emotional side and his fierce protectiveness causes him to be somewhat hot-headed and quick to jump to action. He had no issue trying to force what they needed to know out of the Kanima. Then later on, in Season 3 he rushes into action multiples times going after the twin alphas that terrorize him and his friends. His heart is generally in the right place, even if he does tend to make some mistakes by jumping to land the first hit. This of course is due to his lack of any power throughout his life and also the fact that, yes, he is indeed a werewolf. The bite tends to enhance certain characteristics, aggression being one of them.
His aggression and shoot first, ask questions later attitude leads to another topic of his personality: his obvious bloodlust. Isaac is a werewolf, and there will always be a certain bloodlust around and during the full moons. In multiple situations he's always the one to suggest ending someone's life to solve a problem. While that may be due to a mixture of questionable morals (due to his father not really teaching him any better) and him thinking that he's comedic relief and simply stating what's on everyone's mind, he would still go through killing someone if his alpha asked, even if he knew them. Like when Derek says they need to kill Lydia because she "is the Kanima."
That all being said, Isaac is rather peaceful unless provoked, he takes pleasure in helping other people and animals even if he doesn't let others know. He'd be completely happy living an idyllic life without hurting others. And while most might not see it, he helps even in situations where one would probably be expected to say "wow, screw that noise." Such as keeping the fact that he saw Allison at the school at night to himself as she asks, and also protecting both Derek and Scott's mom when asked, (the latter of which isn't surprising since she took him in, but it still paints a good picture of how he likes to help others).
All in all, Isaac is a sweet good hearted boy, even if he does make mistakes sometimes.
Isaac Lahey wasn't always abused and at a helpless state. But when his dad started beating him and abusing him at a young age, it hit deep as most abusive relationships do. He became accustomed to cowering in fear and letting the world kick the crap out of him due to literally a lack of power.
